Roto Hoe tiller

I picked up this Roto Hoe tiller last year. It's a model 990-5 with a 6hp Techumseh. It's a very solidly built machine. The coolest thing about these tillers is that they made several attachments for them such as the rear tiller, front mount snowthrower, rotary & sickle bar mowers. I think they may have made a chipper/ shredder for them too. I made a weight bar for the front to help with traction and to balance the weight of the tiller.

nice machine

nice tiller,A friend recently gave me one just like it,very well made.
I have a couple of cutivator tools for the back.
The tiller part removes easily to use rear tools.
I like the front weight on yours I may add one also.
Thanks for sharing,I really like older machinery.

Thanks guys. Thought about making a narrow snow blade for it to clear sidewalks. They made them for some of the older 2 wheel tractors like the David Bradleys. Obviously, I'd remove the tiller unit for snow duty or the neighbors might give me strange looks. More than they do now. Haha

I finished up a new attachment for my tiller last night.

I decided to build a stump grinder to get rid of a few stumps in my yard. It is built entirely from parts and materials I had laying around my shop. There's even one Cub part on it. The only parts I had to buy was a belt and blades. For now, I'm using a stack of 5 cheap Skil saw blades as a cutter. I'll probably make a cutter head with replaceable carbide inserts once these blades are shot. With my weight bar on the back it is nicely balanced.

I'll report back how it works out.

Make sure to take a video of it in action and post it! Cool idea. Roto-Hoe's are pretty neat machines. Pics won't do justice for that particular piece of equipment. Better video it!!
