I got robbed...Have to use my JD 165 plowing snow

Not sure how it all came about, but I am in shock... my sons 149 wouldn't pick the plow up when he used it,so we brought it here to my house as he lives less than 1/4 mile away. When we messed with it,we noticed the cylinder that lifts the plow didn't move with the lever. We know the lift arm needs tacked as the pin hole is shot but we could lift the valve part up fully and it still wont move the cylinder. We then replaced the lift cylinder with another known good unit and had the same trouble. We even bled the air from the cylinder and had oil flow. Our next thing was to remove the (actuator valve???) and we are planning to replace it as well. We checked the oil and it was full and there were no leaks. It just progressively got worse and barely lifted the plow. Even with the plow unhooked, the cylinder wont remove. I checked the roll pins in the linkages and the seem fine. The tractor drives fine and does not seem to have trouble moving. We are hoping the valve will be the trouble. The trouble now is, since he has a big driveway,he needed a tractor to push snow. Bet you can guess who's he took out. We just had about 2-4 inches of snow and I wanted to try the new AG's out,but instead, I had to break out the JD and install the chains and front plow. Trouble is, the battery needs a little boost and the darn front tires need the tubes in. Guess that teaches me to procrastinate...Now I am stuck running a different tractor and the excitement of wailing snow with the AG's just got delayed. As I drove out past his place,I noticed a nice clean driveway, unlike mine which is still a mess.Maybe I should go out after work tomorrow and swap the JD for the Cub while he is at work...:biggrin2.gif:
