HELP! 108 ball and socket front connecting rod

Mowing today and the rod just dropped off!! I can put the ball back into the socket but it just drops out again when I steer.

Cannot see anyway to get this to tighten in the socket. What do I do? Thanks

Get a new one. I have tried to do a temp repair by peening the housing around the ball, but it won't hold.

i agree with the others my local tractor supply sells the one like in the pic for around $6. you can get beefier ones from Mcmaster Carr and others for like $8ea.

thanks guys! you wouldn't happen to know a part number/description for this from a cadet dealer, or mcmaster car # by chance?

there are lots of part numbers that will get you the same thing. PN/ 723-3000 - 723-3018 - 923-3000 its just a 3/8-24 ball joint. can get them at all differnt kinda places. if you have to order them you can get em off ebay cheap. just search cub cadet rod end can get them as low as $6 with free shipping.

Get a Heim joint. You'll be much happier.

The photo shows one with a male end. You'll need a female end.
