107 Noisy PTO

Ever since I've owned my 107 the pto has made a loud whiny noise when it is disengaged. As soon as I flip the lever forward to run the mower, it stops. I'm learning as I go on these old girls so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

sounds like the bearing is going bad.

Yep...

And since I just asked this very question, the part number at Advance Auto is NPC-100-RPC... ~$12.

There is an excellent Youtube video about how to service the pto as well.
