starter generator

Hi new to the site but have been around IH Cubs my whole life (family has owned an IH and Cub dealership for 30 years). Last year I bought a 104 and we restored it. Last week the starter stopped working so I took it to a local starter repair shop. The owner told me that he could rebuild the original delco starter or replace it with a chinese starter. Its going to cost about the same either way I go. What would you guys recommend?

Rebuild the Delco S/G. It would outlast a cheap Chinese knock-off if rebuilt right.

Rebuild original or put a chinese knock off in place? Rebuilding the original one is a no brainier for me.

I'm not exactly sure but I don't think many people here are going to tell you to buy the china knock off.
