Dandelions!! The Dandelions Are Coming!!
I showed the plug-in on my 1861 that replaced the right rear taillight, but, I do not think I ever showed the plug-in on my 1872!!
I snuck this one in under the seat, next to the battery. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psbd9c71e5.jpg It was a perfect fit. It is a trailer light connector, wired to a switch on the dash, for easy on/off control. So what does this have to do with dandelions? :bigthink: The plug-in is where I connect my sprayer. I apply 2-4-D as a liquid, it does a wonderful job of controlling any broadleaf weeds. I carry the sprayer with my home-made trailer, it is lined with a piece of 3/4" belting, pretty much bulletproof. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8154488b.jpg This is the tank and pump I use. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psb9a455f1.jpg You can see the trailer connector that plugs into the tractor, no more alligator clips - and no more sparks!! To be continued.............. :bigthink: |
I built a 4 nozzle spray boom out of pvc and some nozzles I found at a surplus store.
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...pse505be46.jpg The end of the boom bracket has 2 bolts to hold the boom in the trailer. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...ps09774f92.jpg The boom assembly just sits under the mat, the weight of the mat is enough to hold the boom in place. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...ps51209cf6.jpg The hose of the boom simply connects in place of the wand. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...ps49bbeee9.jpg Plug in the connector for power http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psb9c725db.jpg I tie a rope to the tank to keep the tank from sliding out going uphill http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psab7952d6.jpg To be continued............ :bigthink: |
Lets spray some weeds!!
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psa95a231b.jpg The 1.8 GPM pump is perfect, I get great results. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5d4bff5f.jpg Even a little rainbow, from the sunlight!! http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psf69d9754.jpg I never measured, but, it must be spraying about 10 feet wide, it gets done in a hurry!! :biggrin2: Lets go kill some dandelions!! :Boxer: |

Nice spray rig. While I’m not a big fan of dandelions if I could get them to grow behind my house I’d be happy. When they built my place it looks like they removed all of the decent top soil and I have been working to get any kind of ground cover to grow. Astro Turf is starting to look like a possibility but then that would cut down on my mowing seat time. |
