Dandelions!! The Dandelions Are Coming!!

I showed the plug-in on my 1861 that replaced the right rear taillight, but, I do not think I ever showed the plug-in on my 1872!!

I snuck this one in under the seat, next to the battery.

It was a perfect fit. It is a trailer light connector, wired to a switch on the dash, for easy on/off control.

So what does this have to do with dandelions? :bigthink:

The plug-in is where I connect my sprayer. I apply 2-4-D as a liquid, it does a wonderful job of controlling any broadleaf weeds.

I carry the sprayer with my home-made trailer, it is lined with a piece of 3/4" belting, pretty much bulletproof.

This is the tank and pump I use.

You can see the trailer connector that plugs into the tractor, no more alligator clips - and no more sparks!!

I built a 4 nozzle spray boom out of pvc and some nozzles I found at a surplus store.

The end of the boom bracket has 2 bolts to hold the boom in the trailer.

The boom assembly just sits under the mat, the weight of the mat is enough to hold the boom in place.

The hose of the boom simply connects in place of the wand.

Plug in the connector for power

I tie a rope to the tank to keep the tank from sliding out going uphill

Lets spray some weeds!!

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psa95a231b.jpg

The 1.8 GPM pump is perfect, I get great results.

Even a little rainbow, from the sunlight!!

I never measured, but, it must be spraying about 10 feet wide, it gets done in a hurry!! :biggrin2:

Lets go kill some dandelions!! :Boxer:

CAD
Nice spray rig. While I’m not a big fan of dandelions if I could get them to grow behind my house I’d be happy. When they built my place it looks like they removed all of the decent top soil and I have been working to get any kind of ground cover to grow. Astro Turf is starting to look like a possibility but then that would cut down on my mowing seat time.
