Cub Cadet 1250 Belt Size
New to the forum and I have been doing a lot of searching which brings me here. I have a Cub Cadet 1250 and I bought a replacement belt for it. Well the belt is to long and I do not want to buy another one until I know for sure what size I need. The one they sold me is 3/8 x 80. At first it seemed to work as long as I had it adjusted to the max tension but if I get in any thick grass it just slips on the belt. All my searching tells me I need either a 3/8 x 79 or a 3/8 x 78? So if anyone knows the size and part number I would greatly appreciate it!

What model of deck are you using...???
|
The deck is marked as a 44A.

IF everything is original and correct, the correct belt for this setup is IH-59971-C1 which is 3/8" x 78".

Thank You very much for getting back to me on this. They assured me it was the 80 inch belt and it turned out to be $30 wasted. I will get the new one on order.

I'm also starting back on my 1250 and there are no tags on the mower deck :(
I measured the overall width at 54 inches. Seems a little big but okay. How do I determine if it's an a, b, c or ?? lol I remember from last fall all three blades seemed equal in length. The rear wheel brackets look like this model(not my deck). http://ihccw.com/images/1002/IMG_5574_10.JPG |
Your deck is most likely one of these. 44A or 5OA inch built 1974 T0 1981. The 44c and 50c were built 1979 till mtd . All the decks 44, 44a, 44c, and
50, 50a, 50c used the same blades and belts. You will have to post a pic. |

To determine deck size, measure the distance from outside blade tip to outside blade tip. |
Tip 2 tip is 44" with a 5" pulley.
Also a 78" belt? :bigthink: |
