Accident/Safety

Hi guys just want to relay a accident I had with my 122 today. I was enjoying having my 122 out today. First time since the fall that I've been able to. I was in third gear very little throttle close to the house I reach in to give a little more throttle. Gave it to much it took off and I tried to reach in to kill throttle and use the brakes but foot slip off the brake I looked down and tried to get to key switch but went though the breezeway It's a Door with 2 side glass panels on each side took out both ends, Glass everywhere ! Turn out it wasn't safety glass. Wife came running over got a piece of glass off of me before it cut me. I was lucky, my knees took a hard hit BUT NO BLOOD I was VERY LUCKY!! Just sore.

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL AROUND These MACHINES THEY HAVE A LOT OF POWER AND CAN HURT YOU VERY BAD. REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST! LET MY ACCIDENT BE THE FIRST AND LAST WE HEARD ABOUT THESE YEAR!!!

I'm surprised I don't see more posts like this most vids I see of you guys operating show guys who have to think then act about every move they make on the tractor. Nothing is instinctive or fluid and its always one step at a time. Never backing lifting and turning at the same time. Usually it's lift implement turn wheels then reverse.

I guess lots of seat time on varying machines from mowers to excavators has me spoiled

Glad you are OK. Thanks for posting this. Good advice to all of us. Take your time around tight areas guys. Be safe, we don't need to have our members getting hurt.

Wow!

Glad you're alright.

Glad you are ok.

It's easy to forget that these machines do not have safety switches in them. You are mowing (or insert other activity) and can fall off and she'll keep going. Always have to keep that in the forefront of your mind while using one. :beer2:

THANKS GUYS. I FIGUE OUT WHAT HAPPEN I EXCHANGED REARS LAST FALL BECAUSE THIS ONE HAD A CREEPER GEAR IN IT. After I got the 2 tractos back together I had to put them up for the winter. I never made any adjustments and never had this rear running. So I didn't know that the brakes didn't work. I took it out of the shed and didn't remembered what I did or didn't do last fall.
