Turbo Cub Cadet
6 Attachment(s)
This Is a 12hp iron kohler with a Mitsubishi turbo. I took this tractor to frame and sand blasted it and brought it back up with original cub paint. I wanted to put my touch on this tractor as this is what I do at the Gizmo Garage so it got a turbo. I added air fuel ratio, boost pressure, tach, oil pressure, and voltage gauges. I fabricated in a oil pump with oil cooler and aux fan. I reversed the engine from its original configuration and removed the friction disc clutch and installed a centrifugal. In doing this i also swapped the ring gear to the other side of the pinion to correct the new direction of the drive shaft.I also swapped the old tires with some more fitting ones. To top off the build I custom built the exhaust you see to send this tractor over the top.I have many more photos of the build and videos at www.facebook.com/gizmogarage2012. Thanks

Cool cub, I also enjoyed the vids!

That is just pure awesome. What kinda boost does it push? I've been playing with the idea of doing something like that with my worker

Now that is cool!:beerchug:
Nice job! |
Thanks

It pops about 10psi but the turbo needs rebuilt. I replaced the two color rod with the stronger single color rod with plans to put a fully forged setup in it after I fuel inject it. I am currently running a 18 hp carb in front of the turbo and it runs great but I want more of the engine and to overcome some airmath obstacles I will need to convert It to fuel injection. This project originally started with a stock cub with a 7.5 kohler with a hole in the side of the block. My sons great grand father on my wife's side gave it to my son and ask me if I would put my touch on the tractor. Well if you've been to the Gizmo Garage Facebook page then you know that I don't just leave well enough alone. I have to take it to the next level. Yep this tractor actually belongs to my five year old son Brayden and he drives it all over. Thanks for the comments. I am new to the forum and look forward to seeing all of the cool tractors that you guys have built!

That is seriously COOL! :beerchug:

wow
thats one nice machine. wish i had the smarts to do something like that

So you say it is getting 10 psi? I figured there would be some sort of whistle in the video. And what air math problems are you having? Also, what are the colors on the rods (I assume they are painted or something from the factory). And what is the head temp normally, and when it is running?
