Hydro's
I'm kinda new to the hydro's but since I own one now I guess I need to start learning. What are the release buttons for under the tunnel cover? I started it the other day & drove it around the yard but the release lever that holds the buttons down is broke so I didn't think it would move but it did, it worked just fine. So I guess I don't understand what they're function is.....

The buttons are for when you shut the motor off and you want to push the tractor around. It releases the hydro internal pressure allowing the tractor to move. Once the motor starts, the hydro builds pressure and the buttons pop up. This of course is considering all is functioning correctly.

if you need to move it without starting it you need to release the valves,BUT USUALLY THEY ARE RUSTY AND WON'T PUSH IN ,OR IF THEY DO PUSH IN THEY SOMETIMES WON'T POP BACK UP.spray them with a good rust penetrant and soak them ,then use a wire brush to clean as good as possible and hopefully if you do push them in they'll pop back up

If I understand you, the tractor is moveable after you shut it off?
Fwd and reverse? Someone may have installed auto valves along the way. Or, the buttons on top of the valves are stuck partially down. |
Thanks for the info, the buttons are working fine I just didn't know if they served another purpose other than releasing the pump to push the tractor.
