1650 muffler box and aluminum baffle
I was looking at pictures of other 1650's on this forum that people had restored and saw a part that is missing from my tractor. It does not have a muffler box.
I was wondering if that is a problem and will I need to find one and replace or can it run without? The aluminum piece that it gets attached to (not sure what it is called) is also cracked, can it be welded? I did see also a link on here that talked about a muffler crutch, should I get one and install? Thanks in advance for your input and suggestions! Ron |

My 1250 doesnt have the original muffler anymore or the duct. I put a hood stack on it.

Cracked on the place that supports the muffler on right side??? I did see also a link on here that talked about a muffler crutch, should I get one and install? Definitely!!! That probably would have prevented that crack. Both my tractors have that issue. Th PO on one had riveted a piece over the break on the 1450. On my 1210 I used a piece of angle iron which is bolted to engine shroud as well. So far both seem secure. |
Roger, Do both on your tractors have the sheet metal muffler boxes?
I did see on here that someone had bought one at Extreme Motor Works. Any one have any experience with them? Can the muffler crutch still be used when using the muffler crutch? Thanks Ron |

Yes. And both mine have a piece missing. Not the same piece, so I have a pattern. Looks like easy fab, but there are far more critical issues to deal with 1st on both tractors Can the muffler crutch still be used when using the muffler crutch? Sorry/ Huh??? |
