1650 muffler box and aluminum baffle
 

I was looking at pictures of other 1650's on this forum that people had restored and saw a part that is missing from my tractor. It does not have a muffler box.

I was wondering if that is a problem and will I need to find one and replace or can it run without?


The aluminum piece that it gets attached to (not sure what it is called) is also cracked, can it be welded?

I did see also a link on here that talked about a muffler crutch, should I get one and install?

In short, YES.

Well, functionally you can. It was placed on the engine as a deflector to funnel the hot air down to the grill opening in the front.

My 1250 doesnt have the original muffler anymore or the duct. I put a hood stack on it.

Cracked on the place that supports the muffler on right side???

Definitely!!! That probably would have prevented that crack. Both my tractors have that issue. Th PO on one had riveted a piece over the break on the 1450. On my 1210 I used a piece of angle iron which is bolted to engine shroud as well. So far both seem secure.

I did see on here that someone had bought one at Extreme Motor Works. Any one have any experience with them?

Yes. And both mine have a piece missing. Not the same piece, so I have a pattern. Looks like easy fab, but there are far more critical issues to deal with 1st on both tractors
