Throttle lever creeps
I have a creepy throttle lever on my 126. It will slowly creep from idle to half throttle in a few minutes.
Are there any easy remedies? How hard is it to pull the lever from under the dash? I haven't looked at it too close, only from above through the slot. Thanks! Jim |
look under the dash, theres is a nut that looks like it holds the throttle lever on to the throttle bracket, and it does but if you tighten it up the throttle gets stiffer!:biggrin2.gif:

I think I saw that. Looked like a bolt. I was thinking it was a shoulder bolt, and I was needing a stiffer wavy washer or something.
I'll take a look at it and give it a turn with a wrench. Thanks! BTW - I saw your mishap w/ the front axle. Ouch! |
If the cable feels loose then try what mstetar says.
If the cable is hard to move then the cable itself could be corroded, might try to spray it down with PB Blaster and work it back and forth. |
Much better now! Thanks Mstetar.
I didn't realize it was a bolt through, with a self-locking nut on the back side. Just a bit tighter and it feels just right. No more runaways when it should be idling... I appreciate the help! Jim |
