Cub/Kohler Original Specs

I have a 61' Original serial 12204 ,
K161S serial #519652 spec# 28542E.
according to a chart i read online the engine is a 1973. is that correct? i hope not. any info would be nice thanks

I honestly dont know how accurate those charts are. Mine wasn't even listed, and I emailed Kohler directly to have them look it up and they had no record of the SN & Spec combination. So not sure what happened back in the day with them....

You have a six digit serial number with no alpha prefix to it, thus your engine is prior to 1965. Chances are, that you have the original engine.
