i might have a chance to trade a crapsment dyt4000 for a 1250 in great shape, what do you guys think? thanks in advance.

trading any crapsman (mower) for anything cub would be a good deal take it and run!

Unless you are a real craftsman fan i would think you would be way better off with the 1250.
I would still drive it and try it out first.

im gonna go look at it tomorrow to see what it looks like. the old one i had was a 1250 with a 16 hp transplant and i loved it. will the 12 hp be better than the 19 on the crapsman?

The 19 hp engine on the crapsman is probably about equivalent to a Kohler 8/10 hp.

The "trade" really depends on if you like to work on or mess with tractors or not. It's hard to tell what may or may not be "wrong" with the 1250. If you like working on tractors then yeah, go for it... If you just want to climb on and cut grass, then this trade may not be for you. Depending on the condition of each, I would probably go for it.

Hands down, even if the cub wasn't running it still would be a deal! Only problem would be listening to your wife complain at you for a month because you have no way of cutting the lawn!
