whatcha think of this Original?
have a line on an original. its about 4 hours from me but there is not
many cubs in Texas. Here is what i got from the seller Attached are more photos of cub cadet. My grandfather bought this tractor new. The serial number is 351530 R7. I have the tractor, a manual (which I do not believe matches this tractor) and the mowing deck. It has not been started in years - just sitting in a barn. Asking $100 and hoping someone who is interested in cubs can restore it or utilize the parts to restore other tractors. If you are not interested, please pass along to anyone you know who might be. I have lots of childhood memories of driving it (they had a 3 acre yard) but no family members are interested in restoration. The manual was not correct. its for 86, 108, 109, 128, 129, and 149 i sent him a picture of where the serial number should be. im sure that he sent a casting number. i am not that versed on originals at all. is there anything much that you can tell me from the pictures? i see part of a lift, maybe the lift rod, dont know if the upper bracket is on the machine. is there extra cog pulleys? can you tell if it has a mule drive? it would be about 8 hrs round trip to get it. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...Cadetparts.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...etsideview.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...etrearview.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...tfrontview.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...mowingdeck.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...Cadetparts.jpg |
For $100 that's a good deal, it does have all the mounting for the mower, too bad it is an 8 hr drive.

Not bad at all for $100.

Most of us have driven further for nothing. To get there and find its a basket case. For $100 it would be worth it even if you only part it out. Im no expert but i have seen original seats sell for more if they have no cracks. If it were me i'd be driving.

That's a pretty good deal!
Like the others have said the drive stinks though! |
the drive is far.i had to drive 6+ hours round trip to go north of dalas by the oklahoma border to get my 1650. I don't regret that one bit. i was looking at a new $300 Huskvarna GT before i stumbled on a craigslist add for a cub cadet 100 and looked up what it was, got hooked since! i just saw another original come up on CL by the same place. this one says a runner, needs new coil and battery for $250. im inquiring on pics now. he didnt say if it had a deck or lift. ill see. most of the people around here put up regular non runners for $300-$400 range, makes me want to move to PA! its 4 hrs to get to this tractor and 2 hours up the road a guy has several cub cadets that he is getting rid of some parts off of. he has the tiller belt guard i need, and has a tiller gear box and wide frame lift for a combo price of $175. i bought my gear box of ebay for $200. I may be able to finance part of my trip by just going up there to buy parts to resell. that would put me at a 12 hr round trip though!

i see parts for a original 3 point lift
BUY IT |
I gave the seller further info on the SN location and he reported back with 3240 or 3248, says the last number is hard to read. Dont know if it is a light strike, or just grime covering the number up. The other pics are bad, so im not going to even try to get one of the SN.
