Hello everyone, I just joined and I am sure I will have a lot of questions. I have been interested in the Cub Cadet series for a long time. I have always enjoyed tinkering with things and hope I will enjoy this a lot more. I just purchased a 1971 (according to the previous owner) Cub 147 hydromatic. It runs but smokes a bit. The lift for the deck and three point works well. The PTO works fine but is hard to judge considering the engine wont rev up to full power. The paint is pretty rough but it is not rusted and the deck looks solid. Here is a photo just after loading. It cost me $400 and I hope it is at least a good start.

Nice cub, this is a great site and people are helpful to your questions. Since I had joined I already learned quite a bit. Though I have been around tractors and mowers all my life I still learn something new every day. Thank you for joining. :beerchug:

Yeah I know, I looked for one for some time, when I located this one. I saw one at a antique car swap meet in Fredricksburg last year and just missed it. I found this one in Austin Craigslist. I had to drive over 2 hours to pick it up. I didnt take a chance on missing this one.
