Tire question

I am looking for front tires for my 1650 and i am at a point where i have two options that i am looking at I am looking at the three rib tires and the ags. I use the tractor for snow plowing, plowing the garden and mowing now my question is what type of tire is the best for me

ribs. ags on the front aint for nothin but looks unless you have front wheel assist

Right now I have 16x6.50-8 Carlisle Tru-Power Ags on the front of my 1450 that are the same type I have on the rear. They are wearing fine and steering fine. I've added the Super Steer Upgrade, Heim joint tie rod ends and 1" spindles. I really like the tires but since they are NLA in this size, I bought another set of rims and Vredestein 5 Rib V61 Tires. Everything I've read, guys swear by these.....I guess I'll find out. I've got a new set of Firestone 3 ribs in this size too but have never tried them. You just can't wear the same pair of shoes everyday!

I would not go so far as to say that ribbed or ag tires are useless on the front. About anything on the front will work when mowing but when used with a blade or blower you actually get some better steering with a more aggressive tread than with turf tires.

Tri-Ribs from Miller Tire.
Steers like power steering.

So far my vote is for narrow tri ribs but then you need different rims too. They steer very nice and look more like a big IH. Deestone makes a nice one

i was saying to go with the ribs up front. i have the v61's on the front and they do work very well.

I have both, tri ribs and ag's . tri ribs a good for everything you want to do.

and in order for the ags to help turn you need to put them on backwards.

how well do the v61s work in the snow i was thinking about them as well. I do use my 1650 all year round so i am looking for something that steers better than what is on it. right now it just has what look to be the stock tires on it
