After working on my 108 and getting it all spruced up ("Progress on 108 Rehab" thread), I got inspired by all your support and by reading about your projects.

Brought this home today. It starts easily and runs strong, Snow blower works. 48" deck looks good and solid. This tractor was well taken care of. Was told the single owner bought it new and traded it a few months ago. I bought it from the tractor dealership. Paid $600 for the whole rig. Do you think I did OK? (in Virginia). Even has a hitch of some sort on the back. (sleeve hitch?)

I need to download the manual and figure out all the controls. It has a manual PTO clutch, and the forward/reverse hydraulics work fine. Not sure how the lift works, but I'll figure it out. Steering is pretty sloppy, but I know how to fix that. Needs chains and weights if it's going to blow snow. Here in the Richmond VA area, we don't get much snow, and I normally use the Ford 2000 with a 7 foot blade to clear the driveway and lane (about 1/2 mile total) to get out. But this blower will work well around the house and patio where the Ford is just too unwieldy or won't fit.

Congrats on your new 149.
What make blower is on it?
Yes that is a sleeve hitch back there.

Don't know what make the blower is-yet. It has model and serial numbers on it, but I didn't see a make on it. Will have to look again when I get some time to mess with it. I imagine this was designed to fit this tractor, so I'll try to find a label on it or take better pictures and post them. I think it would look better cub white....

Never had or used a sleeve hitch (though my other tractors have 3 pt hitches). It looks like the tractor's lift mechanism lifts both the mower deck frame and the sleeve hitch at the same time? Not sure...

I realized that my 108 manual also covers the 149, so I was able to determine that there is something wrong with the lift handle--it just swings around loosely, rather than being held roughly vertical and actuating the lift. I'll have to dig into that issue and figure it out. The blower has its own dedicated lift handle on the right side.

Tail lights don't work, but headlights do. Headlight switch is a little flaky, so that's something to work on. Right front tire is dry rotted pretty bad, but seems to hold air. Front axle is loose on the pivot pin, so it's time to squeeze the frame channel together to tighten things up, as well as check out the steering gear box.
