Oil filter?

I have a question. Is it possible to put the filter lines and filter from a M-18 on a KT-17 Series-2? I'd just feel better if the oil could be filtered.

Not all KT-17's had oil filter provisions. BUT....if they did, I think the oil filter kit would be the same.

Yesmar, A few years back after I put in a new series II in my 782 (which I sold) I thought the same thing. I found these......

I'm not sure were the oil lines would mount to the engine. Are there plugs or a plate to remove or what should I look for? A picture would help.

IF the KT-17 had the Oil Filter provision, then there would be a plate that could be removed, and a Adapter Plate be installed in it's place. Then route your oil hoses and mount the filter.

This is in the KT-17 Service Manual.

Thanks Roland and Steve , My engine has no provisions for a filter that I can find. I've looked the block over pretty well.
