Progress on my 108 rehab
6 Attachment(s)
Making a lot of progress on my 108. Rebuilt steering, drive shaft clutch, PTO clutch, engine (new piston/rings/seals/valves), repainted much of the tractor (rattle cans). Replaced left front wheel spindle and wheel (wouldn't hold a bearing any longer). Replaced seat, decals, (kept original dash tin, though worn, it looks better than a decal would). Still waiting on back ordered (and now lost in the US Mail?) shroud grass screen so I can finish final assembly of the engine (drive cup/drive plate) and install. Have replaced bearings, springs, etc where ever they are used but have not messed with the rear axle or transmission. Brakes were replaced about 10 years ago, and I did buy a NOS mower deck about 7 years ago, so that's in great shape.
Embarrassed that I got a little over spray on the rear tire, but that won't last long. The yellow and white colors don't look right in these pictures, but they are the IH cadet spray paint. Looks fine in person.
This is the 108 that I bought used in 1978 or 1979 and has been in service ever since. I also have a 42 inch front blade and a tilt trailer (not shown here of course).
Will post a final pic when it's all back together and running. Wanted to thank folks on this site for posting instructions--especially the static timing instructions. Used that yesterday.
