50 or 50A??? 1811 compatible?

1. Is this a 50 or 50A deck?
2. Will it work on my 1811 that currently has a 38C deck/hanger assy? I bought the advertised 50" deck adapter kit parts (belt and non adjustable hanger bracket) I suspect it will fit/function but figured I would post to the group for clarification/confirmation...:bigthink: Also here is my dad on the 1450 I bought him for x-mas this year. The 50" deck in question herein came with the deal but the PO said it had never been attached. He did put some new pullies on her and sharpened the gator blades. Gave dad my 38C deck only (kept my hanger and mule) as his yard is a bit smaller... :BlahBlah: Brandon 86 CCC 1811 with 8HP tiller 91 lawn boy walk behind 1970 Pontiac Tempest |
IIRC correctly, the only difference between a 50 & 50A mower deck was the center pulley. The 50 was designed to operate with the 1x8/9 Series Cubs with the Mechanical PTO. The 50A was designed for the Q/L Series that had the Elec PTO.
The 50C was designed for the 82 Series cubs that had the 5/8" drive belt. Install the Center Pulley for the 50C onto the deck and it will be just fine for your 1811. |
And you need the proper subframe and another hole drilled for one of the front hangers that is in a different place on the "C" decks.

Thanks for the info! I will source a pulley and get the sand blaster ready to restore this beast.

Today I drilled the new hole to relocate the sub frame receiver (needed a 5/8" drill bit), swapped out the pulley and bolted up a new sub frame (used ebay part) correct for this application. The machine is now fully operational. Gator blades do a great job mincing up leaves!
Thanks for the help! :beerchug: |
Nice going on your deck!
Also, nice cubs! I see your Dad's is ready for snow! |
