Project 125

7 Attachment(s)
We got the original put to bed for the winter today and need something to fill it's place in the shop, so the 125 stepped up for a well needed makeover.
I picked it up this last spring and never did anything to it but park it. My idea was to use it with the tiller instead of the 123, being it has the hydraulic lift.
But before that can happen it's in need of some refreshing, extensive refreshing! The pump leaks pretty bad. Drive plate hub assembly, notice how the PO covered that up. He wrapped it with black tape and smeared dirt on it, clever.
Also has some oil leaks on the engine and bad head gasket. Needs a seat and some work to the steering. Check out the 3/8 bolt in the drag link! Got to love the PO fixes:bash2: but other than that it's pretty good:biggrin2:
Started off today by removing the engine and pump, I'll pick at it here and there till it's up and going, now onto the pics.

Todd,
The 149 has about 3/4" slot in the drive hub, yours is almost new.Looking good but you should not use the muffler pipe to pick up the motor.
The pto getting some new parts?.
That is going to keep you busy for a while.

Ok Lew, you don't have to holler at me:biggrin2: I usually hook one strap on the muffler pipe, one around the SG bracket and one on the fuel tank support. On some engines there's a puller bracket on the head that I use, so how then do you pull it without one?
Or should I make a puller bracket and just pull a head bolt and use that then?
The pto worked fine when I picked the tractor. It had a thrower on it that worked good. But it could use a new thrust and wear button.
Thanks

Sorry but I agree about strapping to the muffler piece. Don't want to crack that off....

Nice work on the tear down. I wonder if the PO was just trying to keep the pin from falling out instead of using a clamp or wire, and not trying to hide anything.............:Unknown:

Looks like a good project!
