Mystery tractor

Hi everybody
My first post here. This a great forum. Is somebody can say if this tractor (see pic) is a Cub Cadet under a bad paint job ? And if yes which one ? Some details looks like a cub cadet but some dont. BTW I have only a picture of it I never see it for reel. Thanks for any input. Martin |
Pretty sure that is a Sears GT.
|
That's a 60s sears suburban, 10 or 12 HP.
|
Sears Suburban, yup yup
|
Most definitely not a cub cadet!
:Welcome2: |
Sears Suburban, probably about a 1966 model judging by the square fenders. As pointed out probably a 10 or 12 horse, which will be a Tecumseh if it's the original.
While not a Cub Cadet, do not count it out as an excellent GT, because it is. I wouldn't give mine up for anything. Great torque, excellent transaxle, highly maneuverable under power and when pushing them around the shop. They are real pulling workhorses. |
Second the Sears GT! And they are very capable tractors. I had one I painted match a Cub used it for pulling the wagon around the yard.

Those are stout old tractors. I had a 71 SS-12 my father purchased new, rebuilt the engine once, with 42" deck, front and rear manual lift blades, (the rear blade is on 1450 #1), and a manual 3 point hitch. Due to my aging process, the Sears was sold, (I still kick my butt), and replaced with 1450 #1, (dual hydraulics), which lead to 1450 #2, (single hydraulics), which will lead to?
Dear Santa: All I want for Christmas is a Diesel!!! |
it should be a 1966 sears suburban 10, usually the 10's had blue engines and 12's had white. my brother has a 10 and here is my 12.

Thank you for all the excellent input. I'm looking for a cheap CC project and I saw this one advertised for $100. I will think about it.
Thanks again Martin |
