$100 for headlights?

Wow I wanted to get a set of headlights for my 108 and can't believe how expensive they are!! I guess I have to understand that these are not current machines and parts are not being made but holy how man. I've been tracking some via eBay and think I'm going to quit my full time gig and hunt Cub Cadet headlights for a living :biggrin2:

Can I get some ideas on other slick ways to add headlights to the only girl? I'm not looking to really hack this tractor up here so I'd still like this to be a slick and cool looking mod.

The bulbs themselves are a 9-15 dollar part at tractor supply or oreilly's. The hardware to put it in ive had it priced at less than 50 bucks before from folks on here! Place a wanted add or hit up a sponsor at the top of the page.

That's is about going price on that auction site. As aj wrote. put up a wanted ad.

Factory light switches can get stupid money too.

I have had a few wide frames that the PO put automotive rectangular head lights mounted in the front panel.Just be sure to get low beams...

I agree with the others. A hundred bucks is pretty steep for a headlight assembly. I paid $9.00 each for the sealed beams from NAPA that are correct for my Quietline. I bought a hole saw to drill the holes for the grommets that hold the headlights in. I think the grommets were about three bucks a piece.

I know the narrow frame light kits are a bit more complicated, but they should be available from used parts suppliers, such as Chris Westphal's in the sponsors above, or somebody has a roller with a headlight set in it. The want ad is a good idea.

Lights are cool. Good luck with your project.

I was in the same spot as you last year. I bought a set off Chris Westfall for 70$ call him to see if he has a set. He is a good guy to deal with.
