Starter Generator Pulley ?'s

Are there differen't diameter pulleys for the starter generators. If so does anyone know the diameter of the pulley for the model 100. The reason I'm asking is I went to my local cub cadet dealer and got a direct replacment belt for my 100 and barely got it on, it had the generator pulled tight to the engine and now there's no room for the PTO linkage rod. Finally I ended up going to NAPA and got a belt. It's not the correct one either because now the generator is as far out as it can go on the adjustment rod and the belt slips. I was just wondering if the belt I got was the correct one from the dealer but the pulley on the generator is too big and needs to be smaller in diameter. If someone could help me with this let me know plz. :bash2:

I think the 100 had a smaller pulley, as they didn't introduce the ACR cam until partway through the 70/100 series, and the smaller pulley allowed the starter to apply more torque to crank the engine.

I had to change the S/G pulley on my 105. After numerous searches and time spent, come to find out that it is a Kohler pulley to their specifications. Ended up ordering the correct pulley through my local CC dealer.

So, my advice to you it go straight to the correct pulley even if it costs more. You'll save yourself a lot of time, money, and grief.

You can obtain a pulley from your local CC or Kohler dealer(s). You can also try any of the sponsors at the top of the page.
