Engaging PTO

I have a LT 1042. When first pulling out the knob to engage the PTO to run the blades, should the throttle be as slow as it goes, mid-way, or full? Or does it make a difference?

It says in the manual to have it at full throttle.

Just my 2 cents but I would engage it at the lowest engine RPM that I could without stalling the engine. It's easier on the clutch.
