Original For Sale... Whatcha Think?
So, I am going to look at this on Wednesday, I know its a little banged up, but what do you all think, what would be a fair price you would pay before I tell you how much he is asking.... It does not run and hasnt in about 15 years he says. It has some rust, but comes with fenders, rear light, headlights and mowerdeck.

With it being a non runner I would say $200-300. The fenders and headlights are worth that alone.:TwoCents:

Thats what i am thinking... LOL. Cant wait to go look, I think this may be my last Cub, I have always wanted an original.

I like it- with any luck it won't take much to get it running again.

I am not too firmiliar with O's, Is the dash tower and frame all 1 piece? He says everything turns by hand and that it ran when it was parked after his grandfather passed away. He is asking $180, so I think I am going to jump on it.
Also, How much would a seat, hood ornament or a new hood cost and Grill? I know how much stuff goes for in the later models, but not the O's |
No, the frame and dash tower are separate.
Sounds like a smoking deal! The fenders and lights are worth alot more then that! |
Ok, thanks. From the pics I couldn't tell... its pretty rusty. I wonder how hard it is to find a dash tower for on of these guys.
|
So, A dumb Question here... but how do you engage/disengage the deck? I dont see a handle on the right side of the tower like in the later models, there is no way that it is on 100% of the time.

what a deal! I was going to say around 200-250. the one that nearly fell into my lap was unrestored and flawless, he wanted 1200 but it came with fenders, hydraulic lift, mower deck, 3 sets of blades, wheel weights, headlights, lawn sweeper, an extra k-161, rear lift, and this unusual roller setup that swung under the rear wheels and used the tractors weight for moving around. it's the closest I've ever come to skipping a mortgage payment!
i imagine someone here has or knows of a dash tower you could use! |
