SGT splined couplers
I'm needing some pump couplers for 2 diesel supers and I think some guys have talked about using the Hub City #0332-00027 splined adapter. Has anybody made them and if you have, can you post some pictures or explain how you did it.
I found these http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.as...atname=engines and I think they will work. I will be removing the disconnect clutch on both drivelines and I don't see why I couldn't use a 5/8 shaft like the GT's use. What do you guys think? |

Todd here is what I did on the 1572. Did the same thing you are talking about but I used 3/4' material for the drive shaft.Plus I used a cardan style U-Joint and a 2 bolt pillow block bearing at about the center of the shaft to keep everything true. The splined input shaft had a little slop on it on and it ran out of round enough to make it vibrate.

I'm looking to do the same thing to my 1572. Would u be willing to let me know where u obtained the u-joints from?

Chevy13045 I got the parts at Motion Industries in Syracuse NY.
Yoke # 10-4373 Joint # 1-0170 and they are made by SKF. They are a little pricey but a good investment. Motion will have them shipped to your door. By the way 13045 is the zip code where I live. |

Thanks for the info on the u joints. I think I'll order them. I went to college in cortland and lived there from some time after but have since moved to Albany because of my job. Nice to see there are others who are crazy about their cubs like me. My smoker came from Homer and is still in rebuild status.
