147 acting funny
When I tried to start my 147 the other day, it kept moving forward, even with my foot on the brake. the tractor wouldnt start, because the engine cant turn over fast enough....no matter what I tried I could not keep the tractor from moving forward. Any ideas???

is your hydro lever moved slightly forward? your linkages might be worn out and need some attention
|
I tried moving the lever into different positions, even reverse and it still kept moving forward

Same thing happened to my 149 this Spring; could not start the engine because the starter was moving the entire tractor. It then started acting normally after a while.
Could it be something "sticking" in the hydro after prolonged non-use? |
Sticking Valves?
FarmCat, I'm woridering the same thing as CitaBriaBob --if one of the valves is stuck. If you can swap the valves and the tractor starts going backwards, then you'll know for sure. Trouble is, I think you have to split a narrow frame to get the valves out. Some people have luck spraying penetrant on them and working them until they're free, but again, they're probably working on wide frames with removable tunnel cover.
If the linkage is free, try the valves. Jeremiah |
