Hydro filter vs. ?
Having a # 109 & now a # 127 I'm going to clean out the rear end put in a new gasket & change the fluid. Soooooooo ? Is there an alternative filter one can use as opposed to a cub cadet hydro filter?
The previous owner said it was 2/3 years since he changed it but I'd rather have peace of mind, log it in my maintenance log tablet & be done with it. Thanks in advance, Nik, |
As found in our Technical Library Section..... Filters

Thank you, Nik |
R Bedell..... question.
When I bought my 123, I came up with a WIX part number of 51084. I think that the counter guy at NAPA cross-referenced the 723-3014 part number. Seems to be working fine. Any experience with that one? |
The hydro filters listed in the above referenced link are good replacements. Anything else, I have no knowledge on.

NAPA Filters
Nra1lifer: I believe WIX makes the filters (in Charlotte, NC) for NAPA, so the cross-reference should be good, besides, they're both listed on the Tech Chart. :)

The 1084(NAPA) or 51084(WIX) has an anti-drainback valve in it and can be used on the Sunstrand pumps. The valve keeps the fluid in the filter when the pump is not running.
The 1410 is designed to use on the Auto-Gear hydro pump that was used on the non power steering equipped cyclops tractors. I believe it also is for the 2000 and 3000 series. Those models use a reverse flow system so if the 1084 were used on them, the anti-drainback valve can cause the pump to starve for fluid. The 1410(NAPA) or 51410(WIX) can be used on all hydros up to the 3000 series and that is what I use on all of mine. |
