149...work in progres

I finaly got back to working on my 149 a few days ago. I did some body work a few months ago on the hood. I swaped the rear tires with my 110 JD patio, and put a set of Titan ag ribs on the back but I havent had any luck finding the skinny front tires that i want. I am just about done with the paint job now i will try to get a few pictures up in a day or two(i have been working till dark and my camera doesnt like to work with no light). I found a set of cat 0 lift arms for it, the guy I got them from said they were for a Sears but with a litle time and a few welding rods I think I can make them work. I also need to redo my stack, the previous owner thought 1 on each side looked good but I am going to run bolth into 1. There is also a few other things (front mounted spray tank, work lights, hyd hookup in rear) but that is for another day for now I will be happy with the new paint job. BTW it is IH Red, same paint patern as a IH 1066 row crop.

That's going to look nice! Can't wait to see the finished product.

I finished off all the parts that were geting a coat of red, and did almost all the white. The only thing left to paint white is the stripes on the hood. I also odered the decal kit today, I will post a few pictures in the morning. I came across an old original IH fender mount radio a few days ago, if I can get it, I thought about guting it, replacing the speaker with a external cb radio style but keep it hidden and making a space to hide an ipod, that way it looks all original but it will be updated(mainly because it is an old a/m radio).

If I ever came across an original IH radio, the very last thing I would do is gut it. How about just slipping the ipod into a pocket?

Looking forward to your progress. So you'll then have a 149R:biggrin2: NICE!
We used to have an old IH radio, but my uncle took it off the 856 years ago and put it in the grader. He said, "those kids don't need to listen to that stuff while their working" oh but it was ok for him to! Anyway I asked father if it was still laying around someplace, I to thought of mounting it on cub, but it went down the road with the grader.
Thirty years to late:bash2:
I also would not cut it up. It's a piece of tractor history.

Its begining to look more like what I planed every day. as for the radio, it has seen beter days. I would leave it all original if it was working, however it has been mounted in the cab of a cotton striper that has had no windows(people like using old farm equipment for target practice around here) for the last 20 years. none of the electronic parts work and the speaker is rotted out, now when i said gut it, just to clarify, the outside will "look" like brand new, A/M radio face and white paint. All the modifacations will be hiden. I wish it did work but I see no need in mounting a non working part on the tractor just for looks.

I was painting the sleave hitch pin and was wondering, I have seen a lot of pictures of other tractors but all the pins have horazantal holes, mine is vertical, anyone have a clue what the differance is? i have an old picture of it if you look close you can see what Im talking about
