Cub Cadet 127 steering wheel wobble

I have Cub 127 with a loose steering wheel that keeps slipping out of the COLUMN and wobbling making steering difficult. I have to keep pulling up tube assembly up into upper column bearing ( I think that is what its called). But keeps falling down. Why is this keep doing this and what do I have to do to FIX.

This may help you............ Steering

That was happening to me, It sounds like the plastic "bearing" (741-3000) and or the seal (723-3001). When I would be steering the plastic piece would ride up into the underside of the steering wheel causing the wheel the get really loose. I ended up taking the new one and old ones and putting them both there, the new one in the column, and the old one, upside down on top of it, then the foam piece on top of that and then put the steering wheel back on, and It has been a year and I haven't had that issue again.

I had that problem on my 102 I ended up taking a scrap piece of black plastic pipe and cut it down to kind of make a sleave/spacer under the wheel itself to hold the little plastic insert in the column. Works great and almost wouldn't notice it if you didn't know what you were looking for

I drilled two little holes 180 in the column, and put in 10-32 self tapping screws into the plastic bushing.

I'm having this exact same issue also. I can slide everything back together correctly but after some vibration and steering, the tube slides down and the bushing comes out.

I like Tractordude's idea. I think I'll go that route.
