Carburetor/Governor Adjustment?
Ok So... Both are on K241's
1) Cub Cadet 104 - I push the throttle up all the way and its like i'm going to blow the engine, the RPMs are so high, so I keep a spring from the top of the carb on the throttle arm to the sediment bowl to keep it from revving too much. Any idea what I can adjust, so that I don't need this spring? Governor adjustment? I have tried adjusting the high idle needle and doesnt help. 2) My other Cub 104, It idles fine, but when I raise the throttle up just a little bit the cub stalls, I have to go from idle to at least 1/2 throttle or it stalls, but the high idle is fine and there are no popping or anything. I will try to take some videos next weekend when I am home again if they are needed to see what is happening. Thanks in advance! |

Do a stadic gov adjustment. Move the gov arm all the way towards the muffler, while holding the gov arm in place turn the gov shaft counter clock wise till you feel it stop, tighten the nut, while never letting go of the gov arm. Start the unit and see if this helps. Next if it dosnt, then feel manually if the gov is working. Ive seen the cross shaft bee so loose that they dont work. #2 Its in your carb adjustments |
Thanks Vince! I appreciate it, I will let you know how it goes. :beerchug:
