104 flywheel problem - pictures

I've been struggling with problems with my 104. For some reason the main pulley on the crankshaft has developed both a "wobble" and also "travels" forward and backward on the crankshaft for a distance of approximately a half-inch. I pulled the PTO and found that the 2 set screws holding the pulley to the shaft were not in place, so I replaced those. That seemed to stop the "travel", but the wobble still remains; makes a heck of a racket when I try to start the engine (which, by the way, neither starts nor holds a charge).

Finally was able to finesse the PTO and bearing/locking collar off the shaft and discovered that missing pulley set screws weren't the only problem.

If you look carefully at these photos of the back side of the pulley, you can see that the portion that locks to the shaft has separated completely from the remainder of the flywheel. On the belt, the pulley spun like crazy - only it wasn't attached to anything.

Guess I'll be buying a new pulley next week. Wonder if I can get away with ordering that and a spring assist for my lift arm.
