782, Electric PTO make Noise,
 

Hi,

yesterday, i mowed the Lawn of my Parents, the first Time with my 782. Someone know, i got the Cub Cadet from the States, few Years ago. The Mower Deck and the PTO, wasn't use from me. After the Engine Rebuildt the PTO was not running, but that was not a Problem for me, because i had not to mow. Last Week, i adjusted the PTO to 0.10 Gap, and it runs good.

After the Mowing Job yesterday, the PTO make a Noise, i don't know, how to discrip, it sounds like a fast Vibration, or a grinding Noise, if the PTO off.

If the PTO is running, the Noise is away, and the PTO works normally.

What can i do?

Sounds like you have the PTO a bit too tight or you have a bearing going bad.

Try setting the gap at .018.

Today, i reassembled the PTO from the Engine, the Bearing was bad, yery bad. I changed it, and all is running how at the first Day. I made the Gap to 0.10, and it have no Noise.
