Spring assist
What is the difference between a Narrow Frame and a Wide Frame spring assist? IE why is there a difference?
|
That's a good question.?
Having a# 109- wide frame, I bought a spring assist for my # 122 narrow frame last year from a member. Not having put it on ( yet) but tinkering with it I can see that the unit would NOT fit on my wide frame. One can probably make it work but it would take some big modifications to make it work the way it's made. I'm sure many from this site are just some awesome fabricators that could make it work but I'm not one of them. Now with my NEW # 127 I'm thinking of thinning out & going to get rid of the # 122 :bash2: & all the stuff I have for it. Nik, |

Iirc the difference is the mount to the rear of the frame. As well as the rod on the end of the spring has different bends in it. This is Tue info I got while hunting one down for my 1000. The spring and bolt are the same I believe I never did buy the wideframe one I just have a narrow
