1650 or 782?
I am thinking about buying a cub cadet with a hydro lift for my sleeve hitch.1650,782 or any other with a hydro lift. Which one would be better for plowing? Which hydro trans is better?
Thanks |
The transmission is the same. Neither one will really be better than the other for plowing, but having had both tractors, I prefer a 782.

IF the 782 has the series II engine or cast rear end I would get the 782. If it has a series I engine though than I would look for a 1650
|
I've never had a 1650, but my advice would be for the 782. Just personal preference.

I'd also go with the 782.

Since I've got both a 782 and a 1650, my vote would be for the 782 as well. The 1650 would be a close second since it has dual hydraulics and the 782 doesn't. :biggrin2:
Don't knock the series I engine too much. As long as they have routine maintanence and you stay away from mowing on steep inclines, they are good engines. They just aren't rebuildable if they do take a crap. My 782 still has the original series I and she runs great. Probably one of the nicest, original 782's I've seen. If the motor finally gives up the ghost, I'll look for a series II or M18. |
i love my 782 ive used mine quiet abit now and i love it

I'm probably the only one that will say 1650. Just a personal preference for me

Based on having 2-1450s, I'd go with the 782 also. I'm replacing the steering knuckles on one and the steering parts prices are double the 82 series.
