1450 is home. I thought mine was in rough shape! Deck paperwork says it's a 50C. Steering can be turned from 3-6 o'clock before the tires turn. Looks like the axle is moving a small amount, front to rear. Wrong J bolt in the mule, muffler has a gear drive clamp on it where it joins the exhaust pipe, Some of the holes in the muffler box are broken on one side of the hole, needs gas cap/gauge, head light screen needs flattened or replaced, one head light missing screw to attach wire, grill needs to be replaced-whoever cut the hole really needs to learn how to read a tape measure, battery hold down bracket missing, battery cables need new ends, brakes need adjusting. I have to adjust the grill to get the hood back where it's supposed to sit on the dash tower. I cleaned her up after the pics as best I could with Dawn soap.
I was told tractor cranked but would not start. Once home, I checked the oil, was a little low so I added 1 shot glass of MMO. Had a Champion plug, I installed a new Autolite. Drained old gas and refilled. Removed air cleaner base and installed a fuel filter. I need to replace the 3/8" fuel line, it's hard. I turned on the charger and tried the switch. Nothing. The PTO does engage and disengage. Got my test light, have power to the solenoid. Tried switch while checking solenoid. Nothing on the large wire on the other side of the solenoid or at the small wire. I jumped the solenoid with a screwdriver and she turned over. Removed and grounded the plug. Jumped solenoid again, she turned over, no spark. Ran a hot wire from the positive battery charger clamp to the positive side of the coil. Jumped the solenoid again while spraying carb cleaner into the carb and she started then died. Turned the gas on, gave her a shot of carb cleaner and she fired and ran on the gas. I figure I got a decent deal for $350.xx. I have the side panels and 2 extra front wheels. Both 1450's need new front tires. Thinking about tri-ribs. I need to know what to do to get her cranking using the switch. Any other advise on the other maintenance problems will be a big help! Oh, the seat has 4 threaded holes in the back. Is it an arm rest seat?
Thanks
Are you sitting down? PO replaced this with a box store JD because he didn't want to mess with it.
