127 hydro seal replaced, now no drive
I have a 127 with atf leaking out above the oil filter. I removed the drive shaft, flexible coupling and then the front cover (part 55 in image below).
R&R'd the seal (part 47), put everything back. Topped up the oil to just below the bung on the rear cover. Starter her up and no power from the transmission, not even the littler creep in idle. I can confirm that the transmission shaft turns with the engine (i.e. all the pins are in and it's all connected up properly, no spinning couplers) The only thing I'm not 100% sure about is that part 44 in image below fell out on the bench as I was replacing the seal. I did not look closely but maybe it's asymetrical and should go in to the front cover a certain way? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! I'm getting tired of the push mower :bash2: Thanks! http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b244/rbedell/15U.jpg |
If you put the charge pump back on 180 degrees off from how it was removed, the transmission won't work. This is why it's a good idea to read the service manual before you tear into something.

I am not sure about # 44, but i have been told that 55 can't be turned over.
I guess matt beat me to it :biggrin2: but that's what i meant. He explained it better. |

Thanks, this makes sense, I should be able to flip it without having to undo the shaft & coupler. Unless of course you think I've damaged something by blocking off whatever feeds the charge pump? Thanks for the advice! |
