My First Restoration on My first Tractor- The "O"
Tore apart the O last night and took some things to the sandblaster. I got the motor taken off and put aside as not to be used(10hp). I got the tires dismounted and the rims blasted and primed today. My buddy is doing some work for me on the steering tower(someone tore up the steering adjust screw area and it was an ugly hole and not a half moon anymore). I also blasted and primed some other misc parts.

Good stuff! You work fast :-)
I'm looking forward to your restoration John |
Thanks John. My buddy Brad has restored numerous tractorsninhis collection and he's been a huge help. Also, as part of my business we have a San blast set up and 2 paint booths. This makes things go pretty quick.
I will try to update often and post pics. I think we are going to restore a #2 cart along with! |
looking good! I'm not sure how many people know this, but a lot of the bolts have the IH "man on a tractor" logo on them. For the rear wheels, I think they're zinc plated if you're going for a correct resto.

All of the bolts were zinc plated but got painted over execpt the lug bolts those were left in their zinc state. The engine bolts are not IH stamped. To me seeing the carriage bolts with the IH logo is the coolest but those can be worn down easy with use. |
Got the front and rear rims for original all primed and painted. Also the #2 trailer rims. Mounting the ags on the back and tri ribs on front. #2 trailer also getting ags!
