Tri rib 16x6.5-8
Tri rib 16x6.5-8.....does anyone know who stocks these tires?? I don't want to spent the $70 per tire that I have seen.

I got deestone 4.50 x 8 tri ribs from Tucker Tire for $60 a pair with tubes, plus shipping. I realize they aren't the size you want but they are a cheap alternative if you have a set of narrow rims.....

placeebo effect,
I have been checking for a while and that seems to be the going rate no matter where you find them. I want a set myself but hate to pay that price. They do look cool though.:biggrin2.gif: |
I would be putting these on a 1450, and the size I stated is what I need. I too, have seen the smaller size for that price. The only place I have seen the size I need, is on ebay.

Just in case anyone else is interested in the Deestones, the overall diameter is roughly 16 inches uninflated.
I can't figure out why they get so much for the Firestone Tri rib, but having seen both in person I will say there has got to be twice the rubber in the Firestone. |

I sell those on my web site and at $140.00 there is very little $$$ made on them. In fact with shipping it's very slim, www.cubclassics.com

I purchased a pair with rims and all during the Small Engine Show in Portland, IN this past summer (August)for $100....I think that they are Deestone, but not for sure. I like the looks of them and the performance is a lot better than the wide turfs that I was running!! I bought them new off of a vendor up there who dealt exclusively in tires. The rims were painted and new with bushings included, too.

As an educated guess on the price of the Firestones, the price is based upon the demand. If there were a million of these Tri-Ribs being sold annually, the cost of production would drop dramatically. But since the 16 x 6.50 x 8 is a "limited" market, the cost of production is up.
I don't know this for sure, but I am guessing the Firestones are USA made while I suspect the other brand mentioned is foreign made. As for me, when I get ready, I will being buying the Firestones. :American Flag 1:  |
i think i'm gunna buy the firestones too for the 169. they look like a mean tire and high quality
