Here is the 169 that I picked up today. I got it basically for the 3 point and tiller gearbox on back. After some PB blaster, I got the hydraulic unit to operate and the gearbox has no slop in it at all. For $100, I thought that I did well for the day. Now, is it worth restoring or not? I know a guy who might have a 16hp for around $200-$300. What do you think? Also, will the 3 point lift unit work on my 782 or not? Thanks for your comments.

Thats a steal at that price! Great haul! The 3 pt will work on your 782, just reverse the connection points of the lift bar and you will be good to go! i would think a resto is in order for it if you can get the engine. :bigthink:

Nice find and buy! Boy, I hate to see any cub knocked in the head, let alone a 169. I know all can't be saved, though. But that one looks salvageable, especially if you've got a line on a 16 horsey to put in it. The hood, front cast, grill, etc. could be easily had from other models. The hard part would be the muffler. My vote would be to save her! :beerchug:

Great buy! If your guy can't help you with a motor I know where there is a short block 13 fin is at. PM me for details.

Nice find on the 169. I'd also save it.

Looks good to me. Nice find

It's not that bad i would save it. My 122 was in bad shape when i got it from a fence row. All you need is the front clip and the motor.

Thanks fellas. I can't believe how good of shape everything else is in on the ole girl-there is almost no rust and a nice sheen on the frame, the wiring harness is unfrayed and unmolested, I can't wobble either pulley AT ALL on the gearbox, but the 3 point is rusty. He had it standing on end while he had it, so the gearbox was in the dirt. I've got a spare 129 to use as a donor for many of the other parts. I think that I will save it, though it might take some time to work on it since I'm in the middle of an entire house remodel and I'm trying to set my brother up with a really nice 129 with hydraulic lift. Thanks again for your kind words....
