Easier way to reinstall Kohler in QL?
Reinstalling the engine in my 1250 is a PIA because the front oil pan bolts go in the channel where the front axle is housed. It's tough to get the bolts straight into the oil pan and it requires the front be jacked up to tilt the axle out of the way. Has anyone bolted the motor to the rails first and then bolted the rails to the frame? I've got solid motor mounts on this tractor so I think it will be easy enough to reach the nuts and bolts on the rails, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

I find tapping out the roll pin & removing the front axle to be far easier than fightin' those bolts!!:bigthink:

Its difficult...But I usually manage to put them in just by jacking up one side of the axle.
Did you get your solid mounts off of a guy on Ebay? I recently bought a set of those and installed them in my 1200 puller, that I am putting a 16 HP in. Still haven't got the tractor done and ran it with the mounts, though. |
That was a huge help, CAD! Thank you.
