It's not a good pic but this is the back quarter glass on my 99 suburban. mowing a new yard, with my cub 1811, deck guard down, rock or something comes out hits privacy fence a few feet away and I don't see where it goes after that except I hear a loud pop.

I finish mowing and load mower on trailer and drive to 2 other jobs to check on trimming guy, and finally to gas station. as I take off gas cap I rest my hand on the glass and it literally falls out under my hand. I start looking and can see where the rock just got the bottom edge of the glass. looks like a $300 loss day.:bash2:

Crazy thing is it was parked a good 100 feet away.

I hear ya! Kathys car cought a rock from about 40 ft away from the deck of the 106 some years ago. But there is a good side to this. When my kids aee how these old decks chew up toys, they are now quick to pick them up! Just wait till you run over a baseball, that fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well it didnt turn out as bad as it could have. used glass $62.50, 60 to get it put in. whew.
went back and looked where i was parked and found a 1 inch long 1/2 inch bolt with a big cut in it laying on the ground. think that is what mower shot out, but its not from the mower.

With your luck that day, the bolt is probably from the transmission!!

:biggrin2: Dog chains are cool also . Unbelievable how fast you can neatly wind these up around your spindles !! :biggrin2:

On another note , my neighbor recently had her mailbox sheered off at ground level due to an errant turn by someone on an Exmark . Being Im a nice guy , I'll help that Exmark driver dig a new hole .....................blasphemy .:biggrin2:

went back today to that yard and the renter was home, he is working on his truck parked in the grass right where I hit the bolt and starts telling me about working on it :BlahBlah:and how he was glad to get grass cut so he would not lose anymore BOLTS. :bash:

I've never checked on my cubs, but the exmark manual states that the blade tip speed is 18,290rpm.... that's getting up there. With the chute up it'll throw clippings a good 20 feet.
