Why Bother With The QL Cradle Mod!!??

Lots of posts recommend doing the cradle mod and replace the ISO bushings.

I thought I would post a couple pics that show why you should not wait to do the update.

This was the oil pan off a 1450 a neighbor had run until the oil leaked out.

He told me the engine ran good and only needed the oil pan replaced. Luckily he was correct. I bought the tractor, put some oil in it to find the leak.

The leak was easy to spot.

The "twisting" of the oil pan due to the ISO bushings being weak allowed the torque of the engine to crack the oil pan.

I bought the tractor for just the engine, turns out the tractor is actually in pretty good shape.

I may be doing a "1450 Rebuild" thread!!

I have already done the trunion and cradle mod!!

I highly suggest cleaning it with acetone a number of times and probably warming it with a torch to burn out oil residue would be a good idea too.
