SC2400 or GT 3200 or .......?
Any SC2400 Owners out there?? I am looking for a new Garden Tractor or Compact Tractor to fill the gap here on my small farm. The problem is I want to have that "multi-use" machine that will do everything for me, as cheaply as I can get...:biggrin2.gif: And, of course, I would like to keep it in the CC family if possible. I want something that is beefy enough to handle ground engaging implements.
I am leaning to the SC2400, but I can get nearly everything that I would want as an attachment on the GT 3200; everything but an FEL from what I can see on the Cub Cadet Website. I know we have some 3xxx series owners in the group. I have yet to see a 2400 in person, but they look to be similar to the models offered by the Green and Orange dealers in my area, those I have seen. Does anyone know what the 2400 retail price is? What I'm looking for is a machine that I can use with the following attachments. FEL - Nice to have, but not 100% necessary Snowblower - I live in Michigan Tiller - I Love gardening and I am looking to start a CSA sometime soon Rear Mower Deck - (If for Farm use the tax man will not hit your for rear mount deck, or so I have been told). Front and/or Rear Blades / Box Scraper. Ability to use other common implements such as Plow, disc, rake's etc. etc... What say ye??? :Help: |
My grandpa is looking at getting a SC2400 to replace his aging organe BX, he was looking at a Cub 5000 series, but everyone we've talked to said they are crap and avoid at all cost. We went and looked at the SC2400 and they are made by Yanmar now, which made JD's subs for a while and engines too. It looks really nice. He was looking with the 60" mid and FEL, 3 point for around $13,800. That's in southern WV. The deck looks like what comes on the 3000 series cubs, but the machine itself looks really well built.

I have an SC2400 and I love it. It's no comparison to a garden tractor, you can do so much with it. I bought ny SC2400 with FEL (no mower) for $11,500.
