1650 Problem

Hey guys I have a problem with the 1650. I was tilling with it and everything was going fine all of a sudden the 1650 starts shaking violently and sputtering. I idle it down and it clears out. I keep going and about a minute later it does it again but this time it kills it. Any ideas :bigthink:

Hopefully, it is just the coil, that would be the cheapest, except for the condenser. :bigthink:

I have a spare coil so I'll try that.

My 1200 did something similar last year. It ended up being an idler pulley locking up. One of the ones below the pto going to the mower deck.

Check your voltage.....The PTO will drain the battery if it isnt in good health....Trust me I know.... : - )

The gauge is always on C. Would that mean anything?

Mine would show a discharge and never recover then would shut down....New battery that could stay up with the PTO drain and it works like a charm.

Figured it out. Points gap was too big. Now it runs perfectly :beerchug:
