throttle cable question

I just bought a 10HP kohler for my 71 and I am trying to get everything hooked up. I was wondering if I will need to get a shorter throttle cable than a 7HP throttle cable that I have?

Well.

You can always loop it longer, or you can shorten it (I'd use a dremel to cut the coiled sheath ... the inner wire is pretty soft though)

you are going to have to shorten it the 7hp governor is in the front of the motor and the 10hp is on the side of the motor you can try to put a loop in it but it may not work properly due to binding.

I used a dremel and cut the outside covering then cut the core to lenth. It didn't work half bad and saved me $$$:biggrin2:

I had done the exact thing the week before on my Original. That outside layer is tough stuff ... but not for a dremel cut off wheel .
