wiring harness question on an 82 series
 

will a 482 wiring harness fit my 782? Tnanks for all comments!

There were two different wiring harnesses for each model.

The 482 used a B&S engine while the 782 used a Kohler engine.

In answer to your question, will it work as a drop in replacement...........NO.

Thanks Roland. I kind of figured that was true, but was hoping to hear the opposite since I found one in great shape at a very fair price. So, since there are two for the 782 series, if I purchased the other one-different from the one on my tractor now-then how hard is it to convert/adapt over so that it would work?

It's not worth it...the ignition system is different, and since two different brands/styles of engine were used, wires probably won't be the right length, etc. Just get the correct harness and be done with it.
