How can I tell if I am looking ata 126 if it has no sticker on it?

If I get the chance I am giong to look at a Model 126 this weekend. The owner thinks that is what he has but when we spoke it was at another location. Is their a code in the serial number that indicates the model? :bigthink:

Yes. If the serial number has the digits 0039, it is a 126. These numbers should be in the middle of the long serial number. This is called the "kind code" or the machine code used to identify the model.

Can anyone tell me how many were produced?

There were 5,247 126's made. Third lowest production model behind the 800 (2,345 made) and the 169 (4,005 made).

Thanks Josh, I knew it was somewhere over 5,000 126's made. There were 8,489 Cub Cadet 86's made.
